NYC Discovery Lab: Women’s History Month

Join us this March at the NYC Discovery Lab with drop-in activities for children ages 5-12 and their grownups! This month we’re celebrating Women’s History in New York. Learn about the stories of Women New Yorkers – from engineers to designers – who left their mark on the city. 

Dates: Every Saturday and Sunday in March 

Time: Drop-in anytime between 11am-4pm 

  • Learn about how Emily Warren Roebling engineered the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge and create your own mini bridge to take home 
  • Explore the different patterns of Bermudian American designer Ruby Bailey and design your own paper doll 
  • Learn about the role Sara Kierstede played in the colony of New Amsterdam and create a Delft Tile 
  • Grab a scavenger hunt and explore the stories and contributions of Women New Yorkers in the museum’s galleries 
  • Examine objects and learn about the role Lenape women play in their communities  

Museum Admission:
New York State Residents: Pay What You Can 
Children: Free for ages 18 and under
Adults $23/Seniors $18 & Students/$14 – please purchase a ticket online or pay-what-you-wish at the door on the day of your visit. No registration necessary.
