Where Mangos Drop: O, Miami Variety Show presented by Miami Beach OnStage!

Where Mangos Drop celebrates poetry and O, Miami’s initiatives in education and civic publishing—all on the big stage! Join us at the Miami Beach Bandshell for an evening featuring poetry and performances by students in our in-school Sunroom program, creatives from the Greenhouse summer mentorship, audiobook contributors, and others.

With special appearances by Miami Beach Senior High School, Nu Deco, and others, this showcase brings together poets, musicians, and artists from across Miami to share their creativity on stage.

Plus, enjoy activations including a demo by Free Plastic, the Dale Zine Truck, a skate demo by TutiFruit, and more!

Dancing Through Words of Youth

Presenting April 17th at the Bandshell, Miami Beach Senior High's dance troupe has partnered with the Quill & Scroll Society to present choreography inspired by poems generated during a writing intensive. The performance and written pieces explore identity & place, borrowing a well-loved prompt drawn from Najja Moon’s project, Portrait at 34.

This project was led by Valentina Mena, in collaboration with Heather S. Mirmelli (President of the Quill and Scroll Honor Society) & Ella Garcia (Co-President of the National Dance Honor Society).

Valentina Mena Quinonez is a senior student at Miami Beach Senior High. As an immigrant student, she looks forward to helping uplift people’s voices through the arts and education.
