With a focus on being a sustainable shopping resource for local families, the new Once Upon A Child in Albuquerque opens on Jan. 9. Liz Crawford is the owner of New Mexico’s first Once Upon A Child store, bringing over thirty years of corporate experience and a passion for entrepreneurship to this new venture. After retiring from a career in sales and advertising, Liz realized she wasn’t ready to slow down. Inspired by her family’s fifteen-year experience as Once Upon A Child customers across various states, and a suggestion from her granddaughter, Liz decided to open her own location after recently moving to New Mexico from Colorado. With a large extended family that includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Liz sees this new store as an additional way to support the community.

"I couldn’t be more excited to open the first Once Upon A Child in New Mexico,” said Crawford. “For the past fifteen-years, Once Upon A Child has been a huge help to my family, providing us with affordable, quality items for my grandkids and great-grands. It feels amazing to now have the opportunity to bring this incredible resource to other families in our community and make a positive impact in their lives."

Beginning Jan. 9 and throughout the weekend, owner Liz Crawford is inviting guests to stop in to experience the following:

·        Thursday, Jan. 9 – Sunday, Jan. 12: Goody bags will be given to customers at check out and there will be surprise drawings each day.

·        Thursday, Jan. 9: The first 25 customers will receive a $25 gift card, there will be a drawing for a Barbie Pedal Go-Kart and a special character will be on-site from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
