Join the movement that's taken over the racing world!  A 2 mile kayak course + 3.5 mile trail run at central Iowa's newest park located just off I-80, just 20 minutes east of Des Moines near Colfax, IA.  You can do both sports or focus on one and get a partner to do the other for a relay!  We also have a run/walk only option for those that want to just visit our park and get a race t-shirt!

Sign up now to get motivated for training, get excited for race day, and celebrate with us all the way to the finish line.  We're with you through the season!

What's new in 2024?  A dog walker's category (run if you'd like, too) for our 3.5 mile walk/run only option.  We want to encourage anyone with well behaved dogs who love to walk or run to join us.  Please keep dogs leashed and we'll include bags to pickup after your 4 legged friends with your packet pickup!

Kayaks are available to rent for $10 for the event. Greg Rhames with Quarry Springs Outfitters will supply the kayak, paddles, and life jackets.  Please contact him separately to reserve your kayak today!

The Course

Start the paddle just Southwest of our main office along the shoreline

Paddle South, then East towards the East Lake.  Go around a buoy and head back to the finish/transition just North of where the race started.

Drop the kayak off with the help of our volunteers, run through the transition area and start your run or tag your partner to get started.

The run will head West alongside the road to the park and then to the Southwest corner of the park towards the dike trail entrance.  The run will head East for a mile through woods, then North around the East lake towards the isthmus between the North and East lake.  The last 3/4 of a mile will be through a sandier soil and back towards the finish line near the park office.
