Come join us on April at McFarland Park for our Annual Smoke on the Water Backyard Barbeque contest. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, inflatable games for the children, and an opportunity to vote on your favorite BBQ.

The Smoke on the Water Festival is more than just a BBQ cook-off – it’s an event for the entire family. Sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society and the Alabama BBQ Association, this cook-off will determine the very best barbeque from among the entrants, and the winners will win cash prizes. If you love barbeque, this is the place to be! Bring your family to McFarland Park on April 26, 2025, and sample this for yourself. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, inflatable games for the children, and an opportunity to vote on your favorite BBQ.

Admission Fee: $5
Food trucks and vendors on-site
Peoples Choice starts at 11:30 a.m. until sold out ($5 for tasting)
Live music in the park (bring lawn chairs)
Awards begin at approximately 3 p.m.
All proceeds go to benefit the Shoals Scholar Dollars.
