The Omaha STEM Ecosystem (OSE) will host its next STEM Connect Series event, “Strengthening Connections” on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Taking place on the MCL Construction campus, this event aims to help students and those looking for a career change find their passion and facilitate conversations between business and education sectors.

According to the Nebraska Department of Labor, the demand for STEM talent is rising across the state as 23% of occupations are related to STEM and STEM roles are projected to grow an additional 11% by 2030. STEM Connect Series Event attendees will have the opportunity to connect with businesses to learn how the STEM field is evolving across various industries and understand why students and young professionals need to be part of the booming STEM movement.

Featuring guided discussions from industry leaders, “Strengthening Connections” will focus on how to improve educational outcomes and address future workforce needs. By bringing together these leaders in STEM, OSE aims to forge connections between career professionals and young people with a passion for tech, especially those in underserved areas of the community.

The free event is sponsored by MCL Construction with support from Omaha Public Power District, Shepards Business Interiors and BYH Architecture. Registration is available via Eventbrite.
