The 13th annual Walk for Independence is here!

The Walk for Independence supports the Carroll Center for the Blind's mission of empowering those who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and to lead a fulfilling life.

Attendees will complete a 1, 2, or 3-mile walk around the Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst in Newton followed by activities for all ages.

Multi-sensory food tasting with a variety of local vendors

Try your hand at several sensory-enhanced activities

Explore new assistive technology and applications, and more!

Every step we take, every dollar we raise, puts people with vision loss further on the path to independence.

The Walk for Independence is not only a fundraising event, but also a celebration of the entire community coming together to improve the lives of people with vision loss.

Time:
Registration: 9:00 a.m.
Walk kick-off: 10:00 a.m.
Post-walk BBQ and activities: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
