In the early days of WWII, with the establishment of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAACs), over 35,000 women from all over the country applied for less than 1000 anticipated positions. Eventually, over 150,000 American women served in the Women’s Army Corps (WAS) during WWII.

 

Location:  Inn at Garden Plaza, 2520 International Circle

Sandy Halby, BS in Mathematics from the University of Alaska.  She is a military vet and current president of a local MENSA group.  Sandy plays in Mah Jongg tournaments.
