From: Cupertino Fall Bike FestStrap on a helmet and bike to Civic Center Plaza to start the fall with some bike-themed fun!
Note: to participate in the bike rodeo or a bike ride, you will need to turn in a paper waiver at the registration table the day of the event. Download and sign the waiver ahead of time for a speedy registration. Waiver link coming soon!
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Bike Rodeo - Practice traffic safety and bike handling skills in Safe Moves' mini city and obstacle course.
- City-Led Bike Rides - Then put those skills to use by joining one of our chaperoned bike rides:
- 2.5-mile Family Ride: Ride through the neighborhood and along the new Regnart Creek Trail to Wilson park, stop for a scavenger hunt, and earn a chance to win cool raffle prizes! All are welcome on this short, family-friendly ride. Cupertino's Transportation Manager, David Stillman, will lead this ride along with Bicycle Pedestrian Commissioners.
- 9-mile Park Tour: Join Bicycle Pedestrian Commission Chair Joel Wolf for a tour of Cupertino's parks and trails!
Note: The Park Tour is for experienced, confident riders.
- Helmet Checks - Helmets are an important piece of safety equipment, but only work when they're worn properly. Walk Bike Cupertino will make sure yours is proper!
- Bike Safety Checks - Community Cycles of California will conduct an ABC quick check on your bike to make sure your tires have enough air, your brakes are properly adjusted, and that your chain is functional. If your bike needs more attention than that or something is broken, please take it to a bike shop for a tune-up before the Bike Fest.
- Play a game of cornhole and/or get a 50% discount on helmets, headlights, and taillights at Trailhead Cyclery's booth.
- See if you can light up a whole panel of LED lights by pedaling fast in Rock the Bike's sLEDgehammer contest.
- Make colorful spin art by pedaling a bike with Rock the Bike.
- Get your face painted.
- Make a smoothie with a blender bike.
- Upcycle bike parts into jewelry.
- Decorate your bike.
- Stop by the Cupertino Library's Go Go Biblio truck for some bike-themed books and resources.
- Meet a bike instructor from Bicycle Solutions.
- Join the Black Mountain Composite High School Mountain Bike Team for some fun bike activities before the bike rides.
- Stop by a Bike History exhibit from the San Jose History Museum.
- Try out an electric folding bike with Emerald.
- Try out other interesting bikes with Mike's Bikes.
