National Traveling Acts, Contest Stage, 18th Annual Holiday Novi Pet Expo In December

A contest and special feature stage, small dog races and national traveling acts will be among several new features and attractions at the 18th Annual Novi Pet Expo presented by Pet Supplies Plus! December 8th through 10th at the Suburban Collection Showplace now with a Holiday Theme!

The Entertainment Stage will feature contests and photo opportunities all three days of the show, such as a cutest dog contest, tricks contest, and spirit contests dressing up your dogs in support of Michigan, Michigan State and the Detroit Lions. The first ever Pet Prom and Fashion Show will also take place for photo opportunities. The small dog races are also back this year, running multiple times each day.

Attractions for 2023 include The Canine Stars –internationally renowned extreme dog sport trainers and their talented dogs, as seen on America’s Got Talent and at professional and collegiate sports halftime shows. In between shows, catch Sara Carson and her TV star Super Collies teaching two-hour workshops all three days. Teach your dog new tricks by signing up for one of ten spots available each day of the Expo.

Dog Lovers Day Lure Course –Bring your dog and have them run through our Lure course! While your dog is resting, stop by the Rainbow Feather Bird Club and Rescue and interact with all the beautiful birds they bring to Novi.

The Mounted Police Division horses will also be on hand as the Pet Expo will have horses for interaction and demonstrating different horse techniques.

The Pet Expo is proud to welcome back the Rock N Roll K9s dazzling agility demos, the YouTube famous huskies of Gone to the Snow Dogs, plus Michigan Society of Herpetologists featuring over 50 reptiles and amphibians, and so much more. Take your pet’s photo with Santa, all proceeds benefit participating rescues.

Learn about working dogs by visiting the Saginaw Valley Police Canine Association, where they will demonstrate their active-duty jobs, such as narcotics and arson detection, article searches, and handler protection. The organization provides funding and resources for active and retired police K9 units.

New to the Novi Pet Expo this year is Pork Chop Revue, as seen on Season 15 of America’s Got Talent. An awesome display of some of the smartest swine in the country. These incredible pigs present a show featuring amazing stunts and comical acts.

 On the Entertainment Stage, you can also check out training demonstrations put on by Sit Means Sit. The dog training company will be doing presentations two times each day regarding important topics such as strategies for managing separation anxiety, ideas for keeping your dog entertained during the holidays, and finding out if your dog can be a therapy dog. We will also have other dog trainers and demonstrations throughout the weekend.

The pet rescue area presented by title sponsor Pet Supplies Plus features a wide array of Michigan pet rescues and shelters with adoptable animals seeking their forever homes. Some are available for guests to adopt and take home on site – and Pet Supplies Plus will provide a care package for their new adopting family that includes a commemorative certificate and valuable coupons.

Premier Pet Supply will again offer the Pet Expo pop-up marketplace, with an enormous, excellent and affordable selection of quality pet items and tasty USA-Made treats, too!

Holiday cocktails are a new feature this year with fun, festive drinks available for purchase throughout the event weekend. Options will include Grinch Mosa, Cran-Merry Mule, Mistletoe Marg, and Candy Cane Cocoa.

The family fun at the Pet Expo rounds out with ‘Bounce House Mania’ – your opportunity to let the children “shake out the sillies” in an inflatable playground featuring seven inflatables. You can also bring the family by Tina’s Pony Parties for a petting zoo with a variety of animals or go for a pony ride on one of Tina’s ponies.

Well-behaved canine and feline citizens are welcome with proof of current pet vaccination status—but retractable leashes are not permitted.

Versiti Blood Centers of Michigan will also be holding a blood drive on Friday December 8th from 11am-3:30pm. Donate blood inside the Pet Expo (or prior to leaving) and you can receive reimbursement on your event ticket – plus a gift card to Premier Pet Supply for use on a future visit to one of their stores.
