ARIZONA -– With just 75 days left until the general election, Kari Lake can’t hide that she will do or say anything to gain power, stay in the limelight, and advance her toxic agenda — which includes lying over and over about everything from abortion policy to her 2022 gubernatorial loss. Even Republicans have said “[Lake] can’t be trusted in anything she says or does.”

In recognition of just under 75 days from Election Day, here’s a sampling of 75 of Kari Lake’s many, many, many lies:

Kari Lake has a long record of extreme beliefs on abortion that are out of step with Arizonans:

1. Kari Lake said of the 1864 abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest, “We don’t have that law, as much as many of us wish we did.” [4/23/2024]
   • FACT: The majority of Arizonans do not support the 1864 ban. 
2. Kari and her campaign lied about her support for the 1864 abortion ban. [4/10/2024]
   • FACT: Lake has repeatedly expressed support for the 1864 ban. 
3. Lake lied that extreme abortion bans will lead to “locking up a lot more rapists.” [10/26/2022]
   • FACT: There are “no proven connections between lack of access to abortion and imprisonment of rapists.”
4. Lake lied about Arizona’s 15 week abortion ban having exceptions for rape and incest. [10/26/2022]
   • FACT: It doesn’t. 
5. Kari Lake has “falsely claimed Hungary hasn’t changed any of its abortion laws.”
   • FACT: “Hungary has tightened its abortion laws and created cruel barriers for abortion seekers.”
6. Lake lied when she said she opposed IVF restrictions, and days later said she wouldn’t vote to protect IVF in the Senate. [3/5/2024]
   • FACT: When asked if she’d protect IFV in the Senate, Lake said “the less the federal government is getting involved in our lives, the better.”
7. Again, Lake said abortion “is not healthcare. It is the killing, it is the sacrifice, it is the execution of a baby in the mother’s womb.”
   • FACT: Abortion is healthcare. 
8. Lake said abortion is not a “medical choice.”
   • FACT: Abortion is healthcare. 

Kari Lake is a “serial promoter of election lies” – especially about the 2022 election she lost:

9. Kari Lake claimed voting machines are “hackable” in a 2022 court case to ban the use of voting machines. [4/25/2022]
   • FACT: Judges from Arizona to the U.S. Supreme court have dismissed Lake’s case, with a judge writing that the case was “furthering false narratives that baselessly undermine public trust at a time of increasing disinformation about, and distrust in, the democratic process.”
10. Kari Lake filed a lawsuit claiming there was “intentional misconduct” to steal the 2022 gubernatorial election from her. [12/9/2022]
    • FACT: When the judge dismissed Kari Lake’s claims, he said, “Every one of Plaintiff’s witnesses — and for that matter, Defendants’ witnesses as well — was asked about any personal knowledge of both intentional misconduct and intentional misconduct directed to impact the 2022 General Election. Every single witness before the Court disclaimed any personal knowledge of such misconduct. The Court cannot accept speculation or conjecture in place of clear and convincing evidence.”
11. After one of many losing attempts to overthrow the 2022 election, Lake said, “The courts just ruled that this corrupt election will stand. The courts just ruled that our elections can run lawlessly.” [5/23/2023]
    • FACT: The courts ruled that Kari Lake lost. 
12. Lake has made so many false statements about the 2022 election that she’s being sued for defamation by an election official. 
13. Months after losing the 2022 Arizona governor’s race, Lake said, “If you lose, lose with dignity. You shake the other person’s hand and walk away. I didn’t lose, so I’m not doing that.” [2/12/23]
    • FACT: Kari Lake lost. 
14. When discussing her case to challenge the 2022 election results, Lake said, “We have an excellent case.” [12/20/2022]
    • FACT: Kari Lake’s court cases have resulted in her lawyers being sanctioned for lying to the Arizona Supreme Court.
15. Lake said, “We proved without a shadow of a doubt that there was malicious intent that caused disruptions so great it changed the results of the election.” [12/23/22]
    • FACT: Kari Lake’s lawyers have been fined for making “false factual statements to the Court.”
16. After being asked if she lost the gubernatorial race because she lashed out at moderates, Lake said, “that’s fake news.”
    • FACT: “Lake lost moderate voters by 20 points.”
17. Lake said, “I’ll tell you this, when they stole the election, they stole our victory […] First of all, I’ll never concede something that was stolen. But I would be the most gracious loser if I really did lose, don’t get me wrong.” [7/4/23]

18. Lake said, “Well this is why we have to get to the bottom of how corrupt our elections are. They were corrupt in 2020 and ’22, and I’m fighting it. I will not back down. We know what happened in Arizona. We know we actually won by a landslide. It wasn’t a slim margin.” [5/12/23]
    • FACT: Kari Lake didn’t win in a “landslide.” She lost.
19. Nearly a year after the 2020 presidential election, Lake said, “But what we know right now as it stands, Joe Biden did not win. Joe Biden did not win because you can’t count fraudulent votes.” [9/28/21]
    • FACT: Joe Biden won the presidential election in 2020.
20. Lake said about the 2022 election, “On November 8, they committed highway robbery. Highway robbery on November 8. Our movement was, is so powerful that they had to sabotage election day operations. They had to steal our vote in broad daylight, and we all noticed.” [12/18/22]
    • FACT: No one sabotaged the 2022 election. Kari Lake lost. 
21. Discussing the 2020 election in Arizona, Lake said, “If they cover those stories, which is scary. They didn’t even cover our forensic audit which was top-notch. They tried to make everybody think it was a corrupt audit, it wasn’t, it was a very good audit.” [2/10/22]
    • FACT: The GOP-backed audit of Arizona votes still shows Biden won.
22. Lake claimed to have video evidence of a million “election files” being “deleted,” and said “there will be arrests in this case.” [2/10/22]
    • FACT: Kari Lake’s election conspiracy theories have been thrown out at every level, including the United States Supreme Court. 
23. Lake said about her 2022 election, “We just had such a huge movement going into election day, so to watch these people – these evil ********. 24. Lake said, “I’ve never given up. We know what happened in the last election with the way the elections were run, not just to Maricopa County by the way, we know that those shenanigans, maladministration, malfeasance and actual fraud going on in Arizona elections.” [5/28/24]
    • FACT: Kari Lake has never proved any fraud took place in 2022. She lost. 
25. Lake said about the 2022 election, “We’re victims of crime. We’re not sore losers. We’re victims of a crime.” [4/17/23]

26. Lake said about the 2022 gubernatorial election, “I did win.” [4/10/23]

29. Lake said, “They called us all, really who cares what they call us? Election deniers. Deplorables. […] I identify as a proud election-denying deplorable […]  And my pronouns are I won.” [12/18/22]

Lake said about the 2022 Arizona elections, “When I tell people, and I go around the country, and I say, ‘Our elections were stolen,’ and they go, ‘Oh, those darn Democrats,’ I go, ‘Yeah, the Democrats did their usual thing,’ but guess who stole the election in Arizona? 31. After it was suggested that Republicans betrayed Lake in the election, Lake said, “Betrayal is a great word.” [1/13/23]
    • FACT: Kari Lake didn’t earn moderate Republican support after she told them to “get the hell out.”
32. Speaking about the 2022 election, Lake said, “Well, I do know that the powers that be don’t want me in office. That’s why they stole our election in broad daylight.” [2/9/23]
    • FACT: Arizonans don’t want Kari Lake in office.
33. Lake said, “They wanted to set this false narrative that the candidates Trump endorsed lost. No, the narrative, the real truth is that the elections have major issues, there’s still much fraud in our elections.” [7/3/23]

34. Lake claimed, “We have to fix this, and it’s not about me, Charlie, it really isn’t.” [11/29/22]
    • FACT: Kari Lake’s stolen election claims are about her efforts to gain power, not work for Arizonans – why else would she be running for U.S. Senate AND asking to be made Governor. 
35. Lake claimed, “We have a mountain of evidence that they rigged an election, stole an election, sabotaged an election in 2022. There’s a mountain of evidence in 2020.” [9/8/23]
    • FACT: Court after court has confirmed Kari Lake lost.
36. Discussing the 2020 presidential election, Lake said, “It was impossible to certify this election. Any votes Joe won by were fraudulent votes. That is a fact. Joe Biden did not win this election. Any votes that he won by were fraudulent votes. And sadly, the media is not willing to look at this and be honest with their fellow countrymen. And that’s a crime. That’s really a crime.” [9/27/21]
    • FACT: Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election.
37. Lake said about the 2022 election, “This wasn’t a 3:00 AM where they stopped counting and injected ballots, this wasn’t what they did in 2020. This was a highway robbery in front of everyone’s eyes.” [4/30/23]

38. Lake said about the 2022 election, “Well, my thoughts are the Red Wave did happen. The Red Wave did happen, and they had to cheat. They had to sabotage election day. They had to go way out of their way to stop it here in Arizona and everyone knows it.” [3/17/23]

39. Discussing the 2022 election, Lake said, “They stole this election and every man, woman and child knows it.” [3/6/23]

41. Lake said about the 2022 election, “They had to steal this election in broad daylight like a highway robbery. They didn’t care that it looked like a physical violent assault on the people. They committed that assault and they walked away.” [1/20/23]

49. Addressing her 2022 campaign for governor, Lake said, “I mean, we know that we won the election. Anybody with half a brain knows that. Even if you’ve only looked at a tiny bit of the evidence, but we have a mountain of evidence and we’re pushing to get this to the Arizona Supreme Court.” [7/21/23]

50. Months after the 2022 midterms, Lake told Steve Bannon, “Well, the people already know who the legitimate governor is, and you’re looking at her, Steve.” [3/31/23]

51. Discussing her 2022 bid for governor, Lake said, “If I would’ve lost this, I would’ve been the most gracious loser that you could ever imagine. But I don’t sit back and allow myself to be the victim of theft and a stolen election like this.” [2/8/23]

57. Lake said, “Well, I agree with you. He said we need to get rid of voting machines. And I’ve been working very hard on that. We took our case to the United States Supreme Court. We hoped that they would take it up. Unfortunately, they didn’t do that. And it’s worrisome because I know how these machines operate. When you really dig into it. They’re not safe, and they’re not secure. And so I’m going to continue to fight to make sure we get rid of them in time for our election.” [5/17/24]
    • FACT: Before Kari Lake took her election denying case to the U.S. Supreme Court, an Arizona judge said it was described as  “furthering false narratives,” “baseless,” and “reckless” – and it has resulted in over $100,000 in sanctions. 

58. Lake said, “Unfortunately, our elections in Arizona, as we know are run in a horrific way where the voice and the vote of the people is being trampled upon.” [5/23/24]

63. Lake said, “As we have continued to dig and as we have continued to fight, we have uncovered more and more and more revelations about how they’re stealing elections from we the people.” [8/1/23]

66. Lake said about January 6th, “It was people showing up to peacefully protest a fraudulent election, and we had some folks who turned that into a phony riot to try to distract from the fact that they were about to certify that fraudulent election.” [8/2/23]

67. Lake said, “All that January 6 was, was a staged riot to cover up the fact that they certified a fraudulent election.” [8/2/23]

68. Lake said, “We had about a million people showing up exercising their First Amendment right to peacefully protest, their First Amendment right to free speech. And they were doing that on January Six. They were asking their elected officials for relief from a fraudulent election.” [8/2/23]

Lake said,“And frankly, if he’s got a problem with what happened on January Six, he should probably talk to Nancy Pelosi and some of the people who were in charge that day, Talk to the folks in the FBI who planted a bunch of you know, you know, rabble rousers in the crowd to cause trouble. And you know, what he really should do is he should sit down and take a look at the roughly 40,000 hours of video of surveillance footage. And I think he can sort it out real quick, who the trouble was, who the good guys were, and who those handful of bad guys were that were planted in that fed-surrection.” [8/2/23]

72. Lake said, “I’ve seen video on this, it hasn’t been covered in the mainstream media, of Capitol Police – and Nancy Pelosi’s in charge of them – welcoming people in, ‘come on in.’ There’s a lot of stuff that didn’t smell right on January 6th.” [8/9/21]

73. Lake said, “And I believe that what happened on January 6th was a peaceful protest.” [1/29/24]
