No Man's Land Film Festival's 9th Annual Flagship Festival returns to Denver, CO. If you are looking for big boss energy in 2024, you've found it. 4 panel discussions, 15 guest speakers, and a Saturday evening drag show to boot. It's going to be fabulous. It's going to be campy. Films, festivals, and the media realm in general — who gets to participate? Join us as we invite Eddie Bauer ambassador, climber and advocate Sonya Wilson to the stage to discuss film accessibility, the importance of equity and inclusion as we continue evolving in a digital world, and how we can all rise to meet the challenges that create barriers for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities.

6:30 PM - 7:30 PM - Athlete Panel: Breaking Glass Ceilings
Women have historically been excluded from the “Outdoors” narrative, but the dynamic world of adventure sports has come a long way in leveling the playing field with more women and gender-diverse athletes elevating themselves from supporting roles into leadership roles. We’re bringing together an incredible group of panelists who are taking the industry by storm to discuss what breaking the glass ceiling looks like, the importance of role models and mentorship, and forging inclusiveness in outdoor recreation and sport. Olympic climber + Mountain Hardwear athletes Kyra Condie and Shayna Unger are joined by Advocate for Native Youth + Stio Ambassador Geneva Mayall.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM - Women In Film + Photography Panel: A Different Lens
Our 2024 discussion poses questions about the changing landscape of gender and visual culture within filmmaking and photography as it explores the roles of women and genderqueer people as subjects, creators and consumers. Women, genderqueer and gender non-conforming people are still underrepresented behind the camera, but not for lack of interest, talent or skill. These leaders will share their journey in their industry and talk about how the courage to rise and make change has shaped their futures and careers. We’ll assess how far society has come, and how far it still must go so that women, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming people worldwide have the same opportunities and recognition in this industry. We’re honored to invite North Face athlete and photographer Marie-Louise Lusamba Nkashama, Rab athlete and filmmaker Anna Hazlett, and SPECIAL GUEST TBA to kick-start Saturday’s discussion.

2:45 PM - 3:45 PM - Indigenous Women’s Panel: Connection With Land And Water
Do you ever ask yourself about the land we recreate on? Spanning from hiking to climbing, mountain biking and snow sports – we acknowledge the huge impact this has on the land and Indigenous communities. With current landscapes changing so rapidly, we’re so honored to bring Native women to the stage to discuss their relationship with this sacred land, what gives them hope for the future of Indigenous representation, and how we can rally to create meaningful and impactful change moving forward in 2024. Taylor Bennett-Begaye, Geneva Mayall, and Lina Kruek will grace the stage for this important conversation.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM -  Allies In Gender Equality Panel: The Shape Of Things
At No Man’s Land, we believe that every man, woman, and person (including those who exist on the spectrum of gender diversity) play a role in achieving gender equality and that there is always an opportunity to promote healthy conversations that “un-define” traditional masculinity. Despite being presented as a woman’s only issue, gender equality is attainable by inviting people of all gender identities to do this work. The only thing we have to lose in having these conversations is violence and discrimination against women, the LGBTQIA+ community, and everything to gain. We proudly invite advocates, athletes, and educators to discuss their experiences. This conversation will be led by our amazing ASL interpreter Elijah Ayers, Patagonia ambassador Miguel Casar, and The North Face athlete and advocate Vasu Sojitra.

This year, we acknowledge that states in the U.S. have advanced a record number of bills that attack LGBTQ+ rights, especially transgender youth. Dozens of anti-LGBTQ+ bills threaten to prevent people from receiving life-saving healthcare, are discriminatory and seek to erase the community. Drag performance is an art form dating back centuries and is a vital part of LGBTQ+ culture and history. Emceed by the effervescent Camila Spanic, and performed by Travis Goldtooth, Louis Trujillo, and Vicky Deville, we proudly present “No Man’s Land is a Drag”.
