The nonprofit closes its doors on the Langhorne location end of April
BUCKS COUNTY, PA - February 22, 2024 - After nearly 8+ years Acting Naturally Inc. will be taking its final bow at the Flowers Mills Shopping Center location. The decision was made due to the financial strains with post-COVID costs.
Acting Naturally, a 501(c)3 Performing Arts nonprofit, was founded in 2006 by Wendy Force. The goal has always been to teach the technique of acting and performing, with focus on the methods of developing a believable character for stage or screen, while holding professional standards and positive experiences for all performers.
“I am sad to leave our space at Flowers Mill, says Wendy Force, founder of Acting Naturally. “The theater served such an important need in the community. I will miss seeing all of our actors, parents and patrons!
Since its evolution, the organization has grown to offer voice and dance lessons, summer camps, improv classes, scene study classes, programs to train on film and TV, plays, musicals, adult shows, a notable Repertory Company and more, all supporting from ages five to adult.
Annually, the theater has put on 18 productions, and held 28 classes. Since moving into the space, Acting Naturally actors have performed 150 shows. The theater also served as a space for community events such as concerts, family events, and awards ceremonies.
While financial burdens may have prevented the theater from continuing on at the Shoppes at Flowers Mills, this isn’t the end of the road for Force or Acting Naturally. The founder plans to take next level technique and training with different troupes and locations from Bucks County all the way up to New York City for aspiring actors.
“Acting Naturally may be closing the doors at the Shoppes at Flowers Mill, but we will continue to direct both public and private elementary, middle and high school shows as well as community theater,” says Force. “We have also been offered opportunities to direct shows in New York City.”
Audiences can still enjoy final performances at the theater through April. For more information, please visit www.ActingNaturally.com
