Acting Naturally Theatre to Host Auditions for 'Beyond The Door' and 'Murder Well Rehearsed'

Auditions Adults & Teens for two One Act Plays to be performed together for four performances.

Both mysteries and thrillers that will keep our audience captivity engaged and guessing until the very end!

Both Plays are family friendly (not the horror film of the same name)

Auditions: Cold readings from the script - Saturday, June 24^th @1:00pm. Please bring recent photo & resume & any conflicts July – show dates

Mandatory Tech: 9/23 2:30 – 6:00pm, 9/24 – 6:00 – 9:00, 9/25 , 9/26 & 9/27 7:00 – 9:30pm,

Beyond The Door

Casting : Comedy, Mystery by Douglas Farr 3f, 3m adults

Beyond The Door Synopsis: This suspenseful play keeps the audience on the edge of their seats from the first minute right down to the closing of the curtain. A murderer, fleeing from the police, wanders into an old house inhabited by two spinsters. They say they will protect him if he will consent to marry their younger sister, Lucy, who is behind the locked door. How can he refuse? The atmosphere of the house begins to unnerve him. The ladies seem insane. Or is he the one going crazy? Is there a Lucy? Who or what is she? The minister arrives to perform the ceremony. The tension mounts. The door is opened. The murderer has to make a difficult choice.

Rehearsals: Thursdays: 7:00 – 9:00pm 7/13 – read through, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3, 8/10, 8/17 – off script, 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, Saturdays: 2:30 – 4:30,  9/9, 9/16

Roles:

Two older females 65+ to play old spinsters – think Arsenic & Old Lace

Minister – Older male – confused, loyal and able to convince audience he may not be sane.

Ex Con: age 30 – 45

Two Police: caring, authoritative yet casual

Murder Well Rehearsed

Casting: Play , Mystery/Thriller  3f, 3m adults & teens by John R. Carroll

Synopsis: As this suspense-thriller is unraveled, we find a group of performers preparing for a rehearsal only to discover a slain body, center stage! True ensemble cast. Actors are on stage the entire time.

REHEARSALS: 

Tuesdays: 7:00 – 9:00pm 7/11 – read through, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, 8/15 off script, 9/5, 9/12, 9/19,

Saturdays: 8/12 & 8/19 – 3:00 – 6:00pm,  9/9, 9/16 - 4:30 – 6:30,  

Roles: Drama Coach – female age 30 - 60

Police Inspector – Male age 30 – 70

Adult Male groundskeeper – age 30 – 70

Five Teens - Actors preparing for the show – actors must be believable and convincing in what they say. Ages 14 - 20
