All Alameda Free Library branches will be closed on Saturday, November 11th for Veteran's Day and on Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th for Thanksgiving.

For November, we are excited to introduce some highly anticipated books, including Barbra Streisand's long-awaited biography "My Name is Barbra," Michael Cunningham's "Day: A Novel" (his first in a decade), and "The New Naturals" by the award-winning author of "Everywhere You Don't Belong." Whether you're into fiction, non-fiction, or the latest bestsellers, there's something to pique your interest. Our friendly librarians are ready to offer personalized reading suggestions, so feel free to ask for assistance.

This month, we have a lineup of informative and enjoyable community events. Alongside our regular storytimes and book clubs, we're hosting a family movie matinee in the Stafford Room on November 12, featuring a sensory-friendly screening of "Moana." On November 6, join us for a financial literacy program focused on "Financial Aid Basics" in collaboration with the College of Alameda, where adults and teens can gain valuable insights into grants, the FAFSA process, and COA's services and resources.
