From: Alaska Bald Eagle Festivalhe excitement is building as we extend a warm invitation to the 2023 Alaskan Bald Eagle Festival, a three - day extravaganza celebrating the stunning Bald Eagles and the natural wonders of Alaska. From November 10th to 12th, 2023, venture to Haines, Alaska, and immerse yourself in the captivating world of these magnificent birds.
But here's the real magic: each November, the Valley of Eagles plays host to the largest gathering of Bald Eagles in the entire country. It's a breathtaking spectacle, a sight to behold, as historically up to 3,000 of these majestic creatures converge along a four - mile stretch of the Chilkat River within the expansive 48,000 - acre Alaska Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve, just a stone's throw from Haines.
These magnificent eagles return to the Chilkat Valley each autumn to partake in a grand feast, courtesy of the late salmon run. Envision yourself amid this awe - inspiring sight, surrounded by countless bald eagles, all against the backdrop of pristine Alaskan waters. It's a truly rare and unforgettable experience!
This year's Alaska Bald Eagle Festival embraces the theme 'Soaring Together: Celebrating Community, Embracing our Roots.' It's a time to honor our heritage, celebrate our past, and pave the way for an exciting future. While special events and programs during the festival will provide insights into our future, they'll also pay homage to our rich history.
We're coming together to revive the true essence of this festival, showcasing local talent, knowledge, and dedication while fostering an atmosphere of inspiration, education, and celebration. Join us in celebrating the valley of the eagles, their habitat, and our natural resources. Together, we'll soar to new heights, cherishing our roots and envisioning a vibrant future for all.
