On Wednesday, County officials and community members cut the ribbon on Arizona City's new Community Center and Library!

The $3.2 million project saw Arizona City's existing library undergo complete renovation and modernization while an additional 3,700 sq ft was added, including a community center and kitchen.

As part of the project, the County's Libary District will take over the day-to-day operation of the library from the Friends of the Library Arizona City.

District 4 Supervisor Jeffrey McClure said of the new facility, "I think it's great because the old library was very dark inside; it really didn't have windows. We added on the community center, the bathrooms, and the kitchen, and this is just so nice and open and airy. I think that it's really just what they needed. The more things like this we can do in the County, the better for the Community."

Meanwhile, Shawn Flecken, Interim Director of the Pinal County Library District, commented on the library space, "This new building with the LED lights and the windows, it's just a brighter and more open space now. The lines of sight are better, I love the glass walls, there are so many aesthetic components that have been added to this library."

Dean Whitney, President of Friends of the Library Arizona City, remarked, "There's a little bit of everything here, It's going to be a real good resource center, and I think the community is really going to like this. It was nice to see all the kids in here, they're the future customers."

The facility is now open to the public and is located at 13254 Sunland Gin Road, Arizona City, AZ 85123. The library is open from Tuesday to Saturday. Click below for further information, including hours of operation.
