Legislative Updates - SB 147

The Asian Chamber of Texas works together with our legislative representative to protect the interest of Asian American in our area. The Senate Bill 147 was initially aimed to prohibit citizen of China, Iran, North Korea and Russia to purchase properties in Texas.

Due to the civic and governmental pressures and the relentless efforts of Asian American's organizations nationwide the bill has been loosen up to now only prohibit the governmental entities from those said countries from purchasing properties in Texas. All permanent and citizen of US from said countries are not impacted by this proposed legislation.
