For countless years, the Burien Brat Trot has been a fun event for all ages, in support of the Highline Schools Foundation. Our 5k has always been a fast and (mostly) flat run/walk route through Old Burien, and new this year — the start and finish lines will be adjacent to Town Square Park on SW 152nd St. in Burien, site of Burien Oktoberfest!

Through a partnership with Discover Burien, Burien Brat Trot and Burien Oktoberfest are together for an epic day of fun!

2023 BURIEN BRAT TROT

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7TH - DOWNTOWN BURIEN

The Burien Brat Trot remains one of our longest-running and most loved community events, raising critical funds for the Highline Schools Foundation and our work throughout Highline Public Schools. Funds raised through Brat Trot registrations and event sponsorship supports basic needs, equitable and innovative learning opportunities, and college and career readiness for students at all grade levels and in every school in Highline.

Registration and Sponsorship for the 2023 Brat Trot is Now Open!

Registration is now open for the Burien Brat Trot 5k and 1k, for individuals, youth/students, and families. The route is stroller friendly, and well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome!

Our new and improved route will be released shortly, but it features virtually no hills, and will start and end in the same spot – adjacent to Town Square Park and Burien Oktoberfest! Burien Oktoberfest will open around 10am, just in time for Brat Trot finishers to join the fun — all adult 5k registrations include one free taster in the Burien Oktoberfest beer garden. Burien Oktoberfest will feature the Oktoberfest Micro Brew Festival include more than 10 Breweries, fun games such as “Stein Carry”, “Weiner Toss”, “Keg Toss” and so much more!

Packet Pick Up Schedule

Thanks to our friends at the Burien Farmer’s Market and Logan Brewing, Brat Trotters will have more opportunities for packet pick-up this year.

Thursday, September 28th from 10am – 6pm at Burien Farmers Market, Highline Schools Foundation booth

Thursday, October 5th from 10am – 6pm at Burien Farmers Market, Highline Schools Foundation booth

Thursday, October 5th from 6pm – 8pm at Logan Brewing (510 SW 151st St. in Burien)

Friday, October 6th from 4pm – 7pm at Logan Brewing

Final Pick-Up and Late Registration available on Saturday, October 7th from 8am – 9:45am at HSF Booth/Registration at Town Square Park

1k route is out and back on SW 152nd St to Ambaum and back, with Start and Finish at Town Square Park.

Brat Trot Team Challenge! Discount Registrations Available!

Creating a Brat Trot team is a fun way to support Highline Schools with your family, friends, and coworkers! The Foundation is offering a custom discount code for teams, that will offer 10% individual 5k registrations (adult and youth/student only, no additional discounts on family registrations).

New Brat Trot Route!

Our new and improved route is still fast and flat – no hills this year! The 5k will start and end in the same spot – on SW 152nd St, adjacent to Town Square Park and Burien Oktoberfest! The route is stroller-friendly, and well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. Brat Trotters will head west on 152nd turning on 18th Ave SW to run through the neighborhood, returning on 20th Ave SW to 152nd for the home stretch to the Finish Line at Town Sqaure Park.

The Kids’ 1k route is the same as last year – up SW 152nd St. to Ambaum and back to the finish line.

Route details: Start line at Town Square Park (480 SW 152nd St), head west on 152nd past Ambaum Blvd SW and turn right on 18th Ave SW.

Turn right on SW 149th, left on 12th Ave SW, left on SW 148th St, right on 14th Ave SW, left on SW 146th St, left on 20th Ave SW, and finally left onto SW 152nd St. to return to Town Sqaure Park for the Finish line.
