Greensburg, PA -- Blackburn Center, a Westmoreland County non-profit organization dedicated to ending gender-based violence, is excited to announce its annual event for this year. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is taking place at St. Clair Park located in Greensburg, PA. This event, now marking its 13th year, is an incredible opportunity for our community to come together, have fun, and most importantly, commit to taking action against gender-based violence.
Inspired by the powerful saying, "You can't understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes," our community will literally walk the walk on April 13. This event is not just about men walking in high heels, but about everyone joining together to take a stand against gender-based violence. By participating in Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, you become part of a movement dedicated to creating a safer, more compassionate community for everyone.
Last year, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes saw an incredible turnout with over 1,000+ participants. We hope to surpass that number this year, as we believe that together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against gender-based violence. By joining us on April 13th, you are not only showing your support for survivors, but also pledging to actively work towards a future free from gender-based violence.
"We are excited to see our community come together for this important event," says Renee Reitz, Executive Director for Blackburn Center. "Walk A Mile in Her Shoes is not only an opportunity to raise awareness, but also a chance for everyone to take a tangible step towards ending gender-based violence. Together, we can make a difference."
