The Blessing of the Fleet is a highly anticipated annual festival that pays homage to Darien’s thriving shrimping industry. Presented by the Darien-McIntosh County Chamber of Commerce, this exciting three-day event features a plethora of activities and attractions, including an art show, delectable food and beverage vendors, unique arts and crafts, an invigorating YMCA 5K, engaging children’s activities, classic car show, nightly live entertainment, and an enthralling marine parade.

However, the highlight of this splendid weekend falls on Sunday when we bestow our heartfelt blessings on the intrepid shrimpboat captains, wishing them a secure and flourishing season. Notably, Darien’s Blessing of the Fleet is the largest on the East Coast, with a turnout of over 30,000 attendees throughout the weekend. More than just a festival, the Blessing of the Fleet is a spirited celebration of family, food, and fun that embodies the warmth and hospitality of Darien’s charming community.
