Nickerson Distinguished Speaker
Announced: Pulitzer Prize-Winning
Author Geraldine Brooks
The Brewster Ladies’ Library Association has announced that acclaimed author and journalist Geraldine Brooks will be the featured speaker for the Frances Mapes Nickerson Memorial Lecture, set for September 16, 2023 in Brewster. Geraldine Brooks is known for her immersive, character-driven historical novels. Her most recent novel, Horse (published in 2022), is a current New York Times bestseller.
Members who join the Association before August 1st for the membership period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024 will be eligible for early member registration for two (2) tickets per household starting August 8. Registration for the general public will begin August 22 at www.brewsterladieslibrary.org

Teen Choice Book Awards
The Massachusetts' Teen Choice Book Award invites students in grades 7-12 to select their top new books of the year! The list of nominees has been curated by a committee of public librarians, school library media specialists and educators. Teens are invited to read the titles starting during the summer of 2023 and vote for their favorite books in September! Click HERE to learn more!

Adult Summer Reading is back starting Tuesday, June 27th! This year, adults get a free copy of Henry Beston's The Outermost House for signing up. Once registered, adults can log books read for a chance to win one of three $50.00 gift cards. This year's gift cards are to The Brewster Book Store, The Kitchen Cafe, and Brewster Birdhouse/Woodworks Gallery. Adult Summer Reading begins June 27th.
