Brighten The School Break With Taproot’s Acting Studio Spring Break Camps

SEATTLE, WA – February 21, 2023 – Taproot Theatre’s Acting Studio Spring Break Camps take place April 10 – 21 for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Camps end with a final performance on the last day. All camps are taught by Taproot’s experienced teaching artists and theatre professionals. Spring Break Camps

Spring Break Drama Quest Camp 

K - 3rd grade  
Your child’s imagination provides the script in this class that challenges and excites young children as they learn theatrical terms, play games that reinforce important skills and work together to tell a compelling story. Students will learn about the three tools in an actor’s toolbox: imagination, voice, and body. They’ll also experience the wonder of theatre as a team activity as they work together in an environment where empathy and respect are highly valued. See them apply and use all these skills in their end of week performance!   

Location: Taproot Theatre, Isaac Studio Theatre, 208 N 85th St 

Date: Monday-Friday, April 10 – 14, 2023 

Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM 

Cost: $250 (1 week)

Spring Break Youth and Teen Showcase 

4th-12th grade  
This camp provides all the fun and excitement of putting on a great production in just one week. From auditioning and rehearsing to preparing for a final performance, students will have a great time working together and developing their acting skills. Get ready for an action-packed, fast-paced theatre adventure as students come together to memorize lines, learn stage blocking and go through tech rehearsals just like the professionals. Students will be amazed at what they have accomplished when it all comes together in front of an audience.  

Location: Taproot Theatre, Jewell Mainstage Theatre, 204 N 85th St 

Date: Monday-Friday, April 10 – 14, 2023 

Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM 

Cost: $400 (1 week)

About Taproot Theatre’s Spring Acting Studio Camps

WHAT: Registration is open for kindergarten through 12th grade students for Taproot Theatre Company’s Spring Break Camps.

WHEN:

Spring Break DramaQuest: Monday – Friday, April 10 – 14, 2023

Spring Break Youth & Teen Showcase: Monday – Friday, April 10 – 14, 2023

WHERE: Classes are held at Taproot Theatre’s Jewell Mainstage and Isaac Studio Theatres, 204 N 85th St. and 212 N 85th St.

REGISTRATION: Registration and class descriptions are available online at http://taproottheatre.org/acting-studio, by contacting the Acting Studio at 206.529.3668 or emailing [email protected].

AGES: Grades are listed based on the grade students are currently in.

PAYMENT: Full tuition is due at the time of registration. Payment plans may be used by anyone, regardless of financial need. If you would like make arrangements for a payment plan, email the Acting Studio at [email protected].

REFUND POLICY:

- If Taproot Theatre’s Acting Studio cancels a class, a full refund will be issued.

-If a student withdraws before the first day of class, a refund will be issued minus a $25 registration fee.

-If a student attends the first day of class but withdraws before the start of the second day, a refund will be issued minus the cost of one session plus a $25 registration fee.

-  After the start of the second class there are no refunds.

CANCELLATIONS: We reserve the right to cancel or combine camps due to insufficient enrollment. In case of cancellation, all tuition paid will be returned in full, including the registration deposit.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: Because of the collaborative nature of theatre, your student must be at camp every day. Please have your student bring a sack lunch, snack and water each day, as well as a notebook and pencil with eraser.
