You're invited to the 48th. Canal Day Music & Craft Festival to be held on August 19, 2023. Canal Day is an old-time country fair that celebrates the Morris Canal and its contributions to the developement of Northern NJ You can paddle on the Morris Canal with Free Kayak Rides. Learn about local history and visit a Civil War Encampment. Learn about the Cival War and the weapons the Northern and Southern forces utilized through period rearms demonstrations. Learn about the canal boat captains, the lock tenders, and the families who operated the canal while taking a free narrated boat ride on the Canal. You can even visit our newly restored lock tender’s house, and waterway lock, brought back to life through living history. For the non-history bu, the day is lled with fun activities for young and old.

You can learn about local and exotic wildlife during our animal show. Learn the art of Blacksmithing, ride a Pony or take a Hay Ride along the canal, or just lay back with some great food and drink while sampling the oerings from a local brewery and eateries, all while enjoying, NJ’s best musical artists performing on two stages.
The event is advertised on radio, social and print media, and the festival is well attended attracting over 5,000 people throughout the day.
"Rock the Canal" Music Festival
Enjoy a day of listening to a wide variety of musical entertainers. Musical performances from New Jersey’s best artists will feature Rock, Blues, Country, Classical as well as traditional and contemporary Irish Folk Music.
