All Submissions on Display in August’s Month-Long Tiny Art Show
You may have already designed your tiny art creation to show off your artistic “voice” this summer at Canton Public Library. The library invites everyone to pick up a four inch by four inch canvas square at the circulation desk beginning June 19 to make your own tiny masterpiece. Fill it with a painting, a multi-media work, a photograph, or employ other creative materials. All entries must be attached to the supplied canvas square. Exercise your artistic impulses and submit your Tiny Art by Friday, July 28 so it may be displayed all of August in our community art show. All ages and all artistic abilities are welcome to participate. The deadline is this Friday, although if a submission happened to be dropped off on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 1 p. m. it will still be accepted.
Not as a competition, but as a community creativity display, the Tiny Art Show will have a tie-in with the adult summer reading program on August 11 when a reception for the art show becomes an adult’s celebration for both artists and summer readers. The free, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. adult reception will feature “mocktails” and music by O’Brian Strings. Sip, mingle, discuss your summer reads, and enjoy the art. At the end of the evening come the summer reading prize drawings.
If you have questions please call the library at (860) 693-5800. Canton Public Library is located at 40 Dyer Avenue in Canton. Help us hold a creative Tiny Art show that represents how our community “finds its voice,” the statewide library theme for Summer 2023.
