Announcements
Changes for the Friends of Hayward Library!
Our amazing Friends of the Library group had their annual elections for Executive Board members last month, on the 11th of May. Peter Bufete is our new Board President, and Shonda Goward our new Vice-President. Helene Carr continues as Treasurer, and Cassidy Williams continues as Secretary. Congratulations to all four of them!
Many of you are already familiar with Peter, who is President of the Hayward Unified School District Board, and Shonda, who is also Vice-Chair of the Library Commission. We are excited to have this dynamic duo leading our Friends group.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Judy Harrison who has led the Friends for so many years, including during the campaign for Measure C which made it possible for us to get the beautiful new 21st Century Library & Community Learning Center in downtown Hayward. Judy is not leaving us, but will simply focus her efforts on the bookstore and book sales (which are currently held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month 10:30 AM 3:30 PM). Thank you Judy!
The Friends of Hayward Library is a 501(c)3 organization that supports HPL and makes it possible for us to provide many programs and services that would not be otherwise possible. To volunteer, donate, or join the Friends of Hayward Library, go to: www.haywardfriends.org/about_us
