Turf to close for renovation
Annual maintenance of the turf at Powerhouse Park, Seagrove Park and Shores Park begins Dec. 5 and will last for about five weeks.
Lawns at Seagrove and Powerhouse parks will be closed entirely. To accommodate park users at Shores Park, half of the field will remain open during maintenance before crews flip to the other side.
The work includes soil prep, aeration and overseeding. Keeping off of the newly-seeded fields will make for healthy turf for spring and summer. Construction fencing will be in place to discourage foot traffic.
Thank you for your patience!
Monday and Wednesday: SANDAG presentation and open house on pedestrian access
SANDAG is set to deliver a presentation and host an open house next week on options for pedestrian access along the railway atop the Del Mar bluffs.
On Monday, SANDAG officials will update the City Council on the Coastal Connections Conceptual Planning Study, which examines the 1.6-mile stretch between Coast Boulevard and Torrey Pines State Beach. The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 5 on Zoom.
Two days later, at 6 p.m. Dec. 7, SANDAG representatives will answer questions and gather input during an in-person open house at the Del Mar Civic Center Town Hall, 1050 Camino del Mar.
The transportation agency's study is in draft form and open for community review through January 2023. SANDAG says it then will advance the most-promising concepts through a community-focused planning and design process.
More details, contact information and a registry to subscribe for project updates can be found online.
