The City of Dublin has recently partnered with Futures Explored, an organization that, since 1964, has worked with individuals with intellectual and development disabilities (I/DD). Their goal is to create equitable access to relevant programs and opportunities, and to increase awareness in the workforce regarding working with adults with disabilities.  

Together, the City of Dublin and the Futures Explored program, WIN (Workforce Inclusion Network) for All, will enable the hiring of 15 I/DD individuals over the next 18 months in a variety of City positions, with a focus on providing opportunities in the Parks and Community Services Department.  They will include positions at the City of Dublin’s recreational and aquatics facility, The Wave.   Many of the positions, which are part-time, entry-level, and seasonal, are well suited for the Win for All program.

Futures Explored will provide a two-hour training to City staff and supervisors on strategies for working with people with disabilities, and four hours (per quarter) to answer questions and provide coaching.  Training will also include training on equity and implicit bias, as Futures Explored will also reach out to I/DD people of color.  

The applicants will go through the typical procedure of completing an application and then going through the interview and onboarding process.
