From: City Of GalvestonThe annual MLK Parade is coming up next weekend (January 13-15) with associated road closures for residents and visitors to be aware of as they navigate the island.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade to honor his legacy will begin on Saturday, January 14 at 1 p.m. near 29th Street and Church. From there, the procession will continue south down 29th Street to Avenue R 1/2, then east to 28th Street, where they will finish near Menard Park and the McGuire Dent Recreation Center. Residents and visitors are invited to come watch the parade along the route.
There will be rolling closures along the route with traffic assistance from GPD. A map of the route is available below.
