Get in the Holiday Spirit at Great Park
Celebrate the season at Holidayz at the Park. Enjoy festive lights and photo ops at Great Park daily through January 1 from dusk to 9:30 p.m.
Take a stroll through the Palm Court adorned with holiday decorations and a larger-than-life airplane, paying tribute to the park’s military roots, playfully taken over by the Grinch.
And visit the Artist Studios to enjoy interactive displays and festive photo backdrops for the best holiday selfie stations you’ll find this season.
Irvine Earns Digital City Award
The City of Irvine has been recognized nationally as a top-ranked digital city.
Irvine ranked seventh in its population category in the 2022 Digital Cities Survey by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government.
The City was recognized for efforts to ensure the community is connected and has access to reliable, high-speed broadband.
It was also recognized, in part, for steps that have been taken to strengthen cyber resilience, including requiring cybersecurity training for employees, the use of multifactor authentication, and deployment of a managed security operations center.
Meals on Wheels Drivers Needed
Volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels are needed to help deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors in the Irvine community.
Shifts are available for volunteers ages 21 and older Monday through Friday, 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Time commitments are as little as two days per month. Learn more at irvineseniors.org or by emailing [email protected].

Las Posadas and Hanukkah
Las Posadas, a nine-day religious observance begins today, December 16, and the first night of Hanukkah is Sunday, December 18.
Las Posadas
Las Posadas is primarily celebrated in Latin American countries, Mexico, and Spain. It is a reenactment of Mary and Joseph's journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, with people traveling to various homes in the community that are designated as “inns.” After the reenactment, there is a celebration.
Hanukkah
The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, often called the Festival of Lights, is celebrated over eight nights with the lighting of the menorah, traditional foods, games, and gifts.
We wish all who observe these holidays peace and joy as you celebrate with family and friends.
You can learn more about these and other winter holidays at the Winter Holidays from Around the World display in the lobby at City Hall and on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Spotlight page.
