Irvine Names New Director of Administrative Services

After a national recruitment, seasoned finance professional Dahle Bulosan has been named Director of Administrative Services for the City of Irvine.

Bulosan has more than 23 years of finance experience. He comes to Irvine from the City of Huntington Beach, where for the past 16 years, he has held several key finance positions, including Chief Financial Officer.

Bulosan will begin his role with the City of Irvine on January 16. He will oversee payroll, finance & accounting, treasury, budget, purchasing, and information technology (IT) services.

Please join us in welcoming him to our City. Learn more.

Utensils and Condiments Drive

The City of Irvine is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County to collect sealed, unused takeout utensil packs and unopened condiment packets that many of us receive but do not need, and put these items to good use.

Donations will be used by Second Harvest in meal programs and can be dropped off Monday, January 9, through Thursday, February 9, at these locations:

- Irvine City Hall

- Great Park Visitors Center

- Lakeview Senior Center

- Portola Community Center

- University Community Center

Support Animals in Need

You can help adoptable pets start the year off right by supporting the Irvine Animal Care Center Holiday Donation Drive. Donations fund the center's Enhanced Care, Third Chance for Pets, and Foster Care programs.

Every gift, no matter the size, enables the center to continue its life-saving work.

Revisit Old Town Irvine

On December 28, the City of Irvine turned 51! Take a look back on our small-town origins by visiting "Old Town Irvine," the current art exhibition on display at City Hall. It features images such as this one of the Irvine General Store, which was built in 1912.

View the exhibition, which is presented in collaboration with the Irvine Historical Society and features photographs by visual documentarian Rene Laursen and selections from UCI Libraries, through Friday, March 17.

City Hall is open to the public 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday. The exhibition and parking are free.

National Poverty in America Awareness Month

National Poverty in America Awareness Month is an opportunity for people to come together to raise awareness about poverty and its effects on individuals, families, and communities.

If you would like to help those in need in our community, volunteers are needed for Meals on Wheels, and there are also numerous Irvine-based organizations that accept donations and/or volunteers, including Families ForwardSouth County Outreach, and Second Harvest Food Bank Orange County.

If you are in need of assistance, view a list of resources available to residents.
