City Of Lodi Manager Weekly Update - March 9, 2023

District 4 Appointment - Special Meeting

City Council met on Tuesday morning to discuss options for filling the vacant District 4 seat and voted to fill the vacancy by appointment.

This option will allow residents in District 4 to apply for the position while adhering to the same standards required of all candidates for City office.

A publicly noticed special meeting will be set for candidate interviews, public comment, and the Council would then vote to appoint one of the candidates to fill the District 4 seat. This appointment must occur within 60 days of the vacancy.

On Tuesday, March 14 at 7am, the City Council will hold a special meeting at the Loel Senior Center at 105 S Washington St. to hear public comment and approve a candidate application, timeline, including meeting schedules, and interview questions to ask the candidates at a future public meeting.

Storm Alert

A strong, wet system beginning tomorrow will bring renewed flooding threats to Sacramento/Northern San Joaquin Valley & foothills.

The self-serve sandbag station (for Lodi Residents) is now open at the West end of Century Blvd. at Stockton St. (just North of Salas Park) - it will be available through the weekend while supplies last. (Bring your own shovel, bags are provided)

Lodi's Public Works and Electric Utility crews are prepared and ready to act as needed throughout the storm.

In Lodi, minor street flooding should be anticipated based on the intensity of the predicted rain. If you encounter flooded roadways, TURN AROUND and take an alternative route if possible.

The Public Works & Electric Utility Hotline is monitored 24/7 during significant weather events.
