The Family Resource Network which serves local communities including Melrose, has been awarded the ParentChild+ grant from the Department of Early Education & Care for Fiscal Year 2023.

The grant has enabled the Family Resource Network to launch its ParentChild+ Program, which is an evidence-based early literacy, parenting, and school-readiness home visiting program. The program is designed to strengthen families and prepare children to succeed in school through building literacy and interactions between parents and their children.

ParentChild+ is a FREE program that helps parents and caregivers prepare their child for early learning. The visits are fun, and parents and caregivers will receive FREE books and toys each week.

Once enrolled in the program, a trained Early Learning Specialist will make convenient home visits twice a week for 30 minutes and will provide families with free high-quality books and educational toys each week.To qualify, parents and caregivers must have children between the ages 16 months to 4 years old.

For more information and to set up an intake visit, contact Kathy at the Family Resource Network ParentChild+ at [email protected] or (781) 246-5187.

Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care through the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) grant awarded to the Wakefield Public Schools.
