From: City Of MiddletownThe Middletown Sanitation District will not be operating on Thursday, November 24th. Both trash and recycling will be picked up for Thursday and Friday customers on Friday, November 25th.
Sanitation District customers are asked to use the orange bags for trash and the green bags for food scraps, such as turkey carcasses, leftovers, coffee, egg shells, fruits and vegetables, peels, pits and bones. More information can be found at https://reducethetrashct.com/middletown/.
Please note recyclables should NOT be bagged. Acceptable recyclable items should continue to be placed loose in the recycling carts.
The Recycling Center will also be closed for Thanksgiving, on Thursday, Nov. 25th. It will be open both Friday Nov. 26 from 7am – 2:45 pm and Saturday Nov. 27 from 7am – 11:45 am.
Non-Sanitation District customers can bring food scraps to the Recycling Center or to the drop off at 675 Randolph Road at no charge. Food waste must be loose or placed in paper bags or BPI certified compostable bags. No plastic bags and no plastic containers are allowed with the food waste. Turkey carcasses welcome! Food scrap collection kits are available to all Middletown residents at the Public Works office in City Hall.
