From: City of Neptune BeachDue to a water main break, the Public Works Department had to isolate the water main servicing Neptune Grove Drive East and Neptune Grove Drive West for repairs today, Friday, January 13, 2023. Service was restored after the water line had been flushed and the minimum chlorine level was established. Four bacteriological samples will be collected, and a precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until bacteriological tests confirm that the water is safe to drink.
You will need to bring any water to a rolling boil and hold it there for one minute before consumption until we complete lab testing to determine when it is safe to drink the water again. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Tap water may be used for showering, baths, shaving, and washing, so long as care is taken not to swallow or allow water in the eyes, nose, or mouth. Children and disabled individuals should have their baths supervised to ensure water is not ingested. The time spent bathing should be minimized. Though the risk of illness is minimal, individuals who have recent surgical wounds, are immunosuppressed, or have a chronic illness may want to consider using bottled or boiled water (that has cooled) for cleansing until the notice is lifted.
We will let you know when it is safe to return to drinking and consuming the water by placing a blue door notice on your door. The City of Neptune Beach Public Works Department takes great care in assuring that your water is safe to drink and appreciates your cooperation with the precautionary boil water notice to protect public health. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. If you have any questions, please contact Robert Hughes at 904-270-2423
