In August, 2018, FEMA conducted a Community Assistance Visit which was done to assess the effectiveness of the community's floodplain management program. It was an opportunity for their staff to address related questions and provide needed technical assistance and guidance if deemed appropriate.
It has been determined the City of Oviedo continues to be in good standing with the National Flood Insurance Program and the City has been commended for achieving a higher level of safety and protection for its citizens through the participation in the Community Rating System (CRS) Program.
As a Class 6 CRS community, policyholders may receive up to a 20% discount on their flood insurance premiums.
