From: City of RichmondEvery year I make New Year’s Resolutions with such good intentions of following through with them. This year I will make only one which is to have positive thoughts.
Positive thoughts hold power. I believe our lives are a reflection of the way we think. Thoughts are the root of everything. They can also become words and every word spoken has a ripple down effect on the lives of people around us. I want to share what I read that really made sense to me: Watch your thoughts as they become words; watch your words as they become actions; watch your actions as they become habits; and watch your habits as they become character. Character should be very important to everyone. A trait of a person of good character is to be a positive thinker who never gives up on anything they really feel is important. Positive thinking keeps failure in perspective by not letting it define but refine your skills needed to do better next time.
During 2023, I am going to look at life as my granddaughter, Lucy, does. She will be two years old next week and life to her is absolutely amazing. Her two most used words begin with a giggle and are WEE! and WOW!
Richmond, please consider volunteering to serve on a city board, commission, or committee. Recently you were mailed information and an application to apply. Please call city hall (281-342-5456) should you need more information. The number of applications to serve went from only a few to over 125. As Lucy would say…WOW!
