From: City of RichmondI always look forward to Thanksgiving. The older I get, the more I like to think back to Thanksgiving family gatherings as I grew up. We always spent it with my father’s side of the family. Usually, it was my aunt’s home. I remember the tv trays in front of each living room chair for the overflow of diners. And the food was always great! Immediately after our meal, the Longhorn and Aggie football game took over the day. There was quite a rivalry between family members who took sides with the college they attended. I remember the cheering, by both sides, as either quarterback’s ball thrown landed perfectly in their receiver’s hands. Regardless, of whether the receiver made a touchdown or was tackled, my family was loud and had a great time!
The city commission meeting last evening was a good one. One action item on the agenda was the expenditure of funds by the Development Corporation of Richmond to help fund the redevelopment of the T.W. Davis Family YMCA facility and grounds. Jess Stuart, the local Executive Director of the YMCA is leading the way to procure the needed funding. Jess, an Aggie, is the YMCA’s football receiver who has caught a perfect pass thrown by the quarterback and with the help of his offensive linemen, Richmond, Rosenberg, Fort Bend County along with others is running for the touchdown!
