Before the meeting began, the Mayor asked for a moment of silence for Mr. Charles Woods and Mr. Richard Humm who passed since the last Council Meeting.
The meeting began promptly at 6:00pm with Mr. Nauser leading the assembly in the Pledge followed by roll call which established a quorum. The Consent Agenda was passed unanimously.
In business from the floor, Mr. Warren Herrick spoke for Hood and Associates, the CPA firm responsible for performing the City's Audits. In the judgement of Hood and Associates, the City Audit passed with flying colors.
The Mayor presented 5 bills to the Aldermen.
All passed unanimously.
#4602 places a question on the April 4, 2023 ballot asking for qualified voters in Sugar Creek to add a 3% tax to the sale of recreational marijuana.
#4603 allows for SC Police to patrol the River Bend area up to 40 hours per week for a period of one year.
#4604 authorizes payment to Wil-Pav for repairs to various roads in Sugar Creek.
#4605 approves a one-year agreement for Hood and Associates to perform the annual audit
of the City of Sugar Creek, Missouri.
#4606 authorizes conveyance of property upon completion of improvements to the east outer road of
M-291 Hiway back to the City.

Topic: Economic Development
Mr. Mark O'Renick summarized the online survey and gave ideas and suggestions for moving forward. Top themes from the survey; grocery store, more local businesses, better property maintenance, better communications, better internet connectivity and development along Sterling Ave.
What is needed to accomplish above goals: long-range strategy, marketing Sugar Creek brand, engaging interested residents, soliciting outside financing.
The Mayor asked Mr. O'Renick to set up a meeting with the interested residents that expressed an interest in getting involved with community improvements. Mr. O'Renick said he would keep the Mayor in the loop.
