Council Meeting

Minutes
January 23, 2023

Before the meeting began the Mayor asked for a moment of silence for the passing of Mrs. Pat Rittle and for a speedy recovery for Mr. Bill Haman after hip surgery.

At 6:00PM, Mr. Casey led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call established a quorum and the Consent Agenda was passed unanimously.

In business from the floor, Mrs. Janice Fleet asked about the street light that is still out after 3 months. Mr. Casey said he would reach out to EVERGY again. Mrs. Fleet also mentioned a pile of gravel blocking the alleyway.

Mr. Hedrick said he would look into it. Seeing no further business from the floor, the Mayor presented the single Bill to the Council which passed it unanimously.

#4614 An ordinance authorizing payment to Custom

Truck One Source for transmission repairs to

Public Works Truck #131.

The Mayor mentioned that he had asked
Mrs. Jana Olivarez-Dickerson to be the Sugar Creek Missouri Municipal League Service Recipient of 2023. Mrs. Dickerson agreed to the honor. The Mayor then asked for a motion and second to nominate Mrs. Dickerson. The motion was approved unanimously.

The Mayor then asked for a motion and second to nominate Mr. Pat Casey for the Truman Heartland Community Foundation Citizen of year. Mr. Casey had already agreed to the honor in a previous conversation with the Mayor. The Council voted unanimously to make Mr. Casey the

THCF Citizen of the Year 2023.
