Hit a home run this spring and enjoy a day in the sun at Tempe Diablo Stadium for Cactus League Spring Training. Watch the Los Angeles Angels take on the Chicago White Sox in the first home game on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1:10 p.m. Games run through March 28.

Check out Tempe PlayDay at Kiwanis Park on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kayak on Kiwanis Lake, test your skills at the Hitsquad Ninja mini obstacle course and get creative with arts projects and STEM activities. Check out Cowtown S.K.A.T.E., AZ Cardinals, LEGO building, food trucks and so much more! Open to all ages.

Housing Choice Voucher waitlist opens Feb. 28

The City of Tempe Housing Authority is opening its waitlist for the Housing Choice Voucher Program - also known as Section 8 - at 8 a.m. Feb. 28 through 11:59 p.m. March 13. The city will hold a lottery to add 3,000 households to the waitlist. All families and individuals may apply, however, to be eligible the household must meet income requirements.

Tempe Empty Bowls returns this Saturday

Stop by the Tempe Public Library Courtyard this Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the free, fun event featuring live entertainment, food and a beautiful selection of hand-crafted bowls crafted by Tempe Union District high school students and community members.

Bowls will be available for a $10 donation. Larger bowls will also be available for $15 and up. Come enjoy the great weather, tour Tempe’s ceramic center and listen to local entertainment while shopping for your perfect bowls. All proceeds will benefit Tempe Community Action Agency and United Food Bank.
