DOWNTOWN LINKS PHASE III CAR-FREE WEEKEND - The City of Tucson's Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) invites you to bike, roll, or walk on the new Maclovio Barraza Parkway for a car-free weekend, Feb. 11 and 12. On Sunday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., join DTM and celebrate the completion of the eastern segment of the Downtown Links Phase III Improvement Project from the Broadway Boulevard and Aviation Parkway intersection to Sixth Street. DTM and other local businesses and agencies will be in attendance with a bike rodeo, parklet demonstration, mobile bike repair, and more.

READ THE DRAFT CLIMATE ACTION AND ADAPTATION PLAN - The City of Tucson worked last year to develop a climate action and adaptation plan that will provide a strategic pathway to reduce the City’s emissions to net zero by 2030, explain the anticipated impacts of climate change across the City, identify the communities that will be most vulnerable to those impacts, and provide strategies that will assure that Tucson can adapt and be resilient to the impacts of climate change now and in the future. The City's draft climate action and adaptation plan, "Tucson Resilient Together," is posted on the Climate Action Hub website linked below. The plan is open for public review and comments until Tuesday, Feb. 21. Use the link on that site to add your comments on the plan.

RAINWATER HARVESTING AND GRAY WATER REBATES AVAILABLE - The Tucson Water Conservation Program offers rebates for installing rainwater harvesting (up to $2,000) and permanent gray water irrigation systems (up to $1,000). Taking advantage of these opportunities in your home can help conserve water and save you money. A free, three-hour workshop and submission of a project plan are required to qualify. NEW 'SWITCH CITY' PROGRAM FOR TEENS - Tucson Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations for its new video game teen program. "Switch City" features monthly Nintendo Switch tournaments at different recreation centers for youth ages 12-17 in distinct age groups. You can register at the centers, and walk-ins are welcome. A different game is played each month and winners from each center tournament will play in the "Tournament of Champions." Learn more by following the link below.

UDALL RECREATION CENTER TO HOST PARENTS NIGHT OUT LATER THIS MONTH - Tucson Parks and Recreation will host a Parents Night Out on Friday, Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m., at the Morris K. Udall Recreation Center, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road. The cost is $5 per child (ages 5-11 only). Kids will enjoy the movie "Detective Pikachu," a Pokémon theme craft, and play games.
