CIVIC MUSIC MKE TO HONOR MUSIC EDUCATORS

Milwaukee, WI…Trinny Schumann, of Cedarburg, and Lonna Schickert, of Colgate, have been named the 2025 CIVIC MUSIC Teachers of the Year. Ms. Schumann, a music educator and performer with nearly three decades of experience in music education, direction, and performance across Wisconsin, is in her seventh year as Choir Director at Nicolet Union High School, Glendale. Mrs. Schickert has been a Middle School Band Director in the Menomonee Falls School District since 1996. They will be honored along with six other inspiring music educators at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Salute to Educators concert on Sunday, March 9, 2025. The recognition ceremony will be during the 2:30 PM MSO performance at the Bradley Symphony Center, 212 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee and the CIVIC MUSIC MKE sponsored ticketed celebration reception follows the concert at 4:15. For tickets, visit www.civicmusicmilwaukee.org.

CIVIC MUSIC has presented its music educator recognition program since 1991 and has collaborated with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Salute to Educators evening for 20 years. This year’s EDUATOR AWARDS are sponsored in part by Educators Credit Union and Hal Leonard. Now in its 106^th season, CIVIC MUSIC MKE supports music education and provides performance opportunities for young musicians in the greater Milwaukee area and honors their teachers who provide them with inspiration.
