From: Massillon MuseumRepresentatives of local businesses and organizations have decorated six-foot pencil trees for display in Massillon Museum’s lobby in preparation for the holiday season.
“We’ll be looking festive for Massillon’s Light Up Downtown event, the Community Candlelight Walk, MassMu members’ holiday parties, and our day-to-day visitors,” said Alexa Polinori, the Museum’s events and volunteer coordinator. “We appreciate the collaboration of everyone who participated in our tree decorating project.”
MassMu hosts a decorating party each year to foster camaraderie, creativity, and an opportunity to showcase community partners as teams decorate trees that are provided by the Museum.
This year, Massillon Public Library, Bailey Platek Group-Cutler Real Estate, Massillon City Schools, Blue Nile Dental Studio, Danbury Senior Living, Paradigm Shift Brewing, Tremont Coffee Co., Erie Street Vinyl, Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, Luvih Yoga Studio, Massillon WestStark Chamber of Commerce, Old Carolina Barbecue, Rohr’s Wine Room, and Shearer’s Foods have decorated trees with themes reflecting their businesses or organizations.
In addition to the trees, November and December visitors will see the Stark County Artists Exhibition, Artwork by Members of the Boys and Girls Club of Massillon, Stephen Tornero and Grant Ederer: A Fair Trade, 90 Years of Community: The Massillon Tiger Football Booster Club, Brown’s Town: Art Inspired by Ohio’s Football Heritage, the Immel Circus, Innovators of Massillon, and more exhibitions. The Museum shop, OHregionalities, will be open for holiday shopping.
The Museum receives operating support from the Ohio Arts Council, ArtsinStark, and the citizens of Massillon, as well as marketing support from Visit Canton. Exhibitions are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
MassMu will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
