SALIVA AND DROWNING POOL WILL BRING THE METAL TO DEADWOOD MOUNTAIN GRAND

DEADWOOD, S.D. (02/25/23) – Two of the most influential hard rock bands of the 2000’s will make a tour stop at Deadwood Mountain Grand when Saliva with Drowning Pool take the stage on Thursday, May 30^th.

Veterans of the Memphis, Tennessee, rock scene, the members of Saliva came together in September of 1996. Within months the group had won an important local talent competition and took off for the semifinals of the Grammy Talent Showcase, sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Although the group had only been together for a short time, it put on an impressive set that took it to the final round of competition. Despite losing out on the grand prize, the exposure brought the band to the attention of several major record labels.

After releasing its self-titled debut in 1997 on its own label, the band signed with Island Records. Saliva's major-label debut, Every Six Seconds, appeared in 2001. Led by the modern rock hit track "Your Disease," the album earned a gold record for sales in the year after its release.

After releasing a greatest-hits collection in 2010, Saliva issued their seventh album, 2011's “Under Your Skin”. Months later, after 15 years together, Scott parted ways with the band to pursue a solo career. Saliva announced his replacement, Bobby Amaru, in early 2012. They signed with RumBum Records later that year, releasing their eighth album, “In It to Win It, in late 2013”.

The band has continued to build its fan base through its energetic live shows. Saliva currently consists of Brad Stewart (bass), Wayne Swinny (guitar), Sammi Jo Bishop (drums) and Bobby Amaru (vocals).

Drowning Pool, a name etched in the annals of modern rock history, roars back into the spotlight with thunderous energy and uncompromising power. The band’s unmistakable sound, synonymous with raw energy and unapologetic attitude, returns to captivate audiences once again.

Known for their iconic anthem “Bodies,” Drowning Pool needs no introduction. This breakout single propelled them to international recognition, leaving an indelible mark on the new metal landscape. Ryan McCombs played a pivotal role in the band’s evolution, joining their ranks in the aftermath of the tragic loss of beloved frontman Dave Williams. His powerful vocals and charismatic stage presence breathed new life into Drowning Pool, solidifying their status as metal titans. Songs like “37 Stitches,” “Feel Like I Do,” and “Turn So Cold” catapulted them to new heights, earning them a place among the genre’s heavyweights.
