Sen. Warnock: “I’ve worked to protect Georgians from bad actors looking to take advantage of seniors, and this is no different.”
Georgia Republican Congressman Buddy Carter (GA-01) remains silent in the wake of Elon Musk’s DOGE committee announcing the closure of the Brunswick Social Security office in his district. Even Carter — a vocal champion of DOGE slashing government programs and benefits Georgians rely on — admitted in a radio interview on Mar 3rd, that these cuts “go a little bit too far” and “disrupt people’s lives,” but still refuses to denounce the closings or stand up in any way for his constituents.
“Permanently closing five Georgia Social Security offices will make it harder for Georgia seniors, especially in rural areas, to enroll in the program, solve payment issues, report fraud, and more,” said Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock. “As I have said before, I am all for cutting government waste and abuse, but never at the expense of hardworking Georgians, especially our retired seniors.”
Trump and Musk have targeted five Georgia Social Security Administration office closures, the most in the entire country. While Georgia Republicans continue to shrug over the negative consequences for Georgians, Georgia Democrats continue to fight back.
