On May 7, 2023, at approximately 3:00 pm, Deputies working the B-District stopped a vehicle on US 64 just off of the Virginia Dare Bridge in Manns Harbor for speeding in excess of 100mph. The driver was arrested for speeding and DWI at that time. While dealing with the arrest the Deputies were able to determine that the vehicle was stolen from Wanchese, NC. Roger Lee Pritchett Jr, M/42, Grandy, NC, was arrested and charged with (M) DWI, Speeding 104/60, DWLR, Careless/Reckless, (F) Larceny of Motor Vehicle and (F) Possession of Stolen Vehicle. Pritchett was given a $101,000 secured bond.
