Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by making delicious and authentic guacamole, led by Ms. Maria from our very own Children's Library! We will supply all of the ingredients, so come hungry and ready to eat! There should even be enough left over to bring some home to your family.

Link Initiative Information Session
Wednesday, October 4th at 3 p.m.
Are you a high schooler who is learning Spanish and want an opportunity to practice with native speakers? Come to our information session to learn more about the LINK Initiative and get some meaningful community service, free pizza, and a monetary stipend upon completion of the 2-month long program!

DIY Teens: Friendship Bracelets
Thursday, October 12th at 4 p.m.
Bring your friends to the Teen Lounge and make friendship bracelets with Miss Mia! All levels of experience are welcome to join and make something special for you and a friend. This event will double as a celebration of the release of the Eras Tour Concert Film, so Swifties definitely welcome!

Historical Miniature Gaming Club
Saturday, October 14th at 3 p.m.
Players will participate in strategy based games using painted miniature figures and terrained boards reminiscent of some famous conflicts in history. This month, we will recreate the Battle of Hastings, which happened on this very day in the year 1066. The battle lasted all day and would decide who would control all of England.

Movie Monday: Halloween Edition
Monday, October 16th at 3 p.m.
Come to The Library to watch a Halloween-themed movie! Keep an eye out on our Instagram story the Friday before to vote for the classic Halloween movie that you want to see. Snacks and juice will be provided for those who attend the movie, so bring your friends!

Those creepy and crawly animals don't get enough love. Come to the Teen Lounge to hang out with animals such as snakes, lizards, spiders, and more! Are you brave enough to hold one? Let's find out!

Murder Mystery at the Library
Tuesday, October 24th at 4 p.m.
Do you like reading true crime books, listening to podcasts, or watching true crime documentaries? Or are you just interested in solving mysteries? If so, come find out if you have what it takes to solve a murder. Put your detective hat on, solve the clues, and decipher the codes to find the murderer.

Teen Advisory Board
Tuesday, October 24th at 6:30 p.m.
Teen Advisory Board meets with the Teen Services Librarian once a month to discuss all things teen for Darien Library. They are responsible for assisting the Library through volunteering at events, helping plan and run Library programs, and acting as a sounding board for new ideas. Plus, there will be pizza!
TAB is open to teens grades 8 and up.
DIY Teens: Edible Graveyard
Friday, October 27th at 3 p.m.
Have you ever wanted to eat a graveyard? Well, probably not! But, what if the gravestones were made of cookies and the dirt was made of pudding and crushed chocolate cookies? Use your creativity to make a creepy confectionary cemetery!

What is the Friday Thing? It's a time to come to the Teen Lounge, eat snacks, do a craft, play some video games with your friends, or talk with our Librarians about the things that you love! It is an open hangout so bring your friends and come spend some time in the Teen Lounge.
