Celebrating Vishaan Chakrabarti, 2025 Bacon Award Honoree
Vishaan Chakrabarti is a leading architect and urban planner dedicated to creating sustainable, equitable, and vibrant cities. As the founder of PAU | Practice for Architecture and Urbanism, he has led transformative projects such as Brooklyn’s Domino Sugar Refinery, Philadelphia’s Schuylkill Yards, and New York’s Pennsylvania Station, all designed to enhance connectivity and cultural impact. His latest book, The Architecture of Urbanity: Designing for Nature, Culture, and Joy (2024), builds on his influential work, advocating for cities that bridge divides and address today’s most pressing challenges.

Snack Attack: Students Design Packaging + Expo Booths
Local high school students dove into the world of design through the Diversity in Design x DesignPhiladelphia Workshop Series, gaining hands-on experience in packaging and booth design along with guidance from industry professionals from Campbells and Freeman. From ideation to final presentations, the program not only built practical skills but also fostered confidence and creativity.
Collaging Workshop for Children!
The African American Museum of Philadelphia and DesignPhiladelphia's Design Education have teamed up to present a FREE workshop for families on Sunday, March 2nd. Children ages 7-17 will learn how to create their own unique portrait using a variety of materials inspired by the exhibition on view at AAMP “Shared Vision: Portraits from The CCH Pounder-Koné Collection”.
