ALL DOGS MUST BE LICENSED ACCORDING TO MASS STATE LAW AND HARVARD TOWN BYLAW - Pay Online, by mail or use the Town Hall Dropbox.

FEES:

  • Spayed Females: $20.00
  • Un-spayed Females: $25.00
  • Neutered Males: $20.00
  • Un-neutered Males: $25.00
  • 3 or 4 dogs: $45.00
  • 5 to 10 dogs: $65.00
  • over 10 dogs: $100.00
  • owner 70 years or over: NO CHARGE
  • Replacement Dog Tag and Transfer Fee: $2.00

TO LICENSE YOUR DOG PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Registration Form - CLICK HERE
  2. An unexpired Rabies Certificate showing Spay or Neuter status
  3. A certificate of spaying/neutering, if status is not shown on the rabies certificate
  4. The appropriate annual fee 

Please send the application form and Rabies Certificate, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check with the correct fee, payable to the "Town of Harvard". Mail to the Office of the Town Clerk, 13 Ayer Road, Harvard, MA 01451 or drop off forms and check in the Town Hall Dropbox to the left of the front doors. The license and dog tag will be returned to you by mail.

To license your dog online you will need the following:

  1. A valid rabies certificate showing proof of spay or neuter
  2. A certificate of spaying/neutering, if status is not shown on the Rabies Certificate
  3. The appropriate annual fee

According to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 140 Section 137 and Town of Harvard by-law, all dogs must be licensed annually, on for before April 1st. Puppies must be licensed at 6 months of age. New dogs and those belonging to new residents must be licensed within 30 days.  A late fee of $15 per dog will be assessed after April 1st.
